Definition: It is a two-component, epoxy resin-based pre-fabricating primer with anti-corrosive zinc phosphate pigment, which is used for the protection of abrasive sand-grit blasted steel surfaces against corrosion. Since it has a very good adhesion property, it creates a solid ground for the paints to be applied on it.
Qualities: It is used as an anticorrosive pre-production primer in priming steel surfaces exposed to water, sea water, chemicals and abrasion and in areas where high corrosion resistance is required. Its performance is very good in marine industry, in the structural steel industry and in the protection of other steel surfaces against corrosion.
APPLICATION
Surface Preparation: The surfaces to be applied should be cleaned of all kinds of materials that will reduce adherence. Metal surfaces should be sandblasted (sand rasp) at Sa2 ½ grade (ISO 8501-1, SSPC-SP10). Welding burrs - splashes and any surface defects that may remain on the paint film must be removed. After the surface preparation is finished, it should be primed preferably immetiately, within 1-2 hours at the latest.
Application: After mixing in the specified proportions, wait 30 minutes before the application for the pre-reaction. Surface temperature should be at least 10 ° C. No application should be made around the dew point of the water (in the range of 2-5 ° C).
Form of Application: Roller, brush and suction or chamber type gun (Air pressure: 3-4 bar, nozzle diameter 1.5-2 mm) can be used.
