DEFINITION: It is an epoxy resin based, two component solvent containing primer.

QUALITIES: It is a two-component epoxy resin based primer that adheres well to all types of metal, wood and concrete surfaces, has high performance in terms of chemical and physical resistance and anticorrosive properties. When coated with suitable topcoats, it is resistant to dilute acids, diluted and concentrated alkalis, detergents, vegetable, mineral and animal oils, sea water, diesel oil, gasoline and many more solvents.

APPLICATION AREA: In order to protect metal surfaces from atmospheric, chemical and mechanical factors; It is used in refineries, petrochemicals and other industrial establishments. Used in beverage storage tanks, wastewater, beer and malt industry facilities, medicine and food industries and hospitals. As a marine group, it is used as a matt intermediate layer before the last layer in order to form an adherence bridge after anticorrosive primers on all surfaces of boats and ships. It is used as primer on all aluminum sheet surfaces.

SURFACE PREPARATION AND APPLICATION: Oil, dirt, rust, rolling peel, or old paint residue on metallic surfaces (such as iron or steel) should be removed by mechanical ways or by sandblasting until bright metal is obtained. The first layer of primer should be applied in preferance to immediately, at the latest within 4 hours after sandblasting. Painting the prepared surfaces should never be left to the next day. If the application must be postponed, the surface must be sandblasted and cleaned again before priming. Sembol Epoxy Primer Paint is a two component primer, therefore; after the first component is mixed thoroughly, the second component is added at the recommended rate. The duration of use after preparation of the mixture is 3-4 hours at 20 ° C. For applications, recommended thinner should be used. Priming is started by applying bolt heads, weld seams and sharp edges with the prepared primer, then the whole surface is primed and the process is completed. In more than one coat application, light sanding should be done when at least 8 hours pass between coats. Sembol Epoxy Topcoat Paint or Sembol Solvent Free Epoxy Paint can be applied on it as a top coat.

Thinning Rate           
In application with roller and brush: Thinned 10%.
In application with spray gun: Thinned 20%.

Form of Application: It is applied with short bristle brush, short haired roller or airless paint spray.

Pot Lıfe :  (Mixture life) 3-4 hours at 20 ºC. As the ambient temperature increases, the time becomes shorter.

Drying Time: Surface drying time is 2-4 hours, Full Drying time is 24 hours, Full Curing time is 7 days

Time Between Layers: Minimum 8 hours, Maximum 24 hours

Coverage    : Depending on the suction of the surface, 0,150-0,200 Kg./m2  in one layer.

STORAGE: It is one (1) year in its unopened package under suitable storage conditions.
